2008 US-China Business Matchmaking Conference Shanghai
2008 China Trade Mission:Taking an EZPath to the China Market

Dear Company Executives and Friends:

Our 2008 China trade mission, a part of our China EZPath Program and the eighth annual mission since 2001, starts registration now. Similar to the previous years, the 2008 mission and the associated matchmaking conferences will be co-organized by National League of Cities and other organizations, and will be a multi-city, pre-matchmaking, and across-industry-lines event. The focuses of this year's mission are to help US small-medium-sized companies (SMCs) increase export to China and meet their other business development needs. This year, we are going to visit Shanghai, Ningbo (China's major port city with the newly built longest bridge in the world), and Beijing from June 2 through June 10, 2008.

As before, our 2008 trade mission will continue to provide distinct values to the US SMCs:
  1. The easy and fast access to China market. By simply filling the matchmaking request form, the US SMCs will be pre-matched with at least 2-5 Chinese companies at each city visited and start a face-to-face meeting with these pre-matched and hundreds more non-pre-matched companies in just a few months. As one previous mission attendee commented, by itself, a US SMC may take years to find and meet these pre-matched and non-pre-matched companies, and by then, the China opportunity could be totally gone!
  2. The efficiency of one-stop shopping. As anyone doing business with China would know, setting up a connection with the Chinese government is important for conducting business in China. Every year, along with hundreds of the Chinese companies, ranking officials from the Chinese central, provincial and municipal government also participated in our events. These government leaders are not easily accessible by individuals, and their participations are not very common in other events, either. So in only one meeting, US SMC will be able to connect with both corporate and government leaders in China.
  3. The cost-effectiveness. While other high level and high quality trips and conferences usually charge high prices, our mission is an exception: high quality with low price. In addition to the high quality of business content, our logistic arrangements are also first ranked and highly praised by each year's SMC attendees. Given the sponsorships that our association received, however, the cost for the entire trip is only about 30% - 50% of any other comparable missions. For example, the travel expenses to Shanghai, Ningbo and Beijing for about 10 days staying in 4-5 star hotels are pretty much same as one traveling to New York, LA and Washington, DC, staying in 3-star hotels, with much that you won't get from the domestic trips in the USA: banquets, cultural tours, entertainment, and much more. But most importantly, the Chinese market! It is an International Business at Domestic Expense. As a result, the quite unique combination of these three features makes our annual trade mission and the associated matchmaking conferences in China valuable and welcomed events, joined by many SMCs each year and other organizations as well.
Dear executives and friends, no matter how much modern technologies develop, nothing can replace a face-to-face talk to build trust and confidence, and the first hand experience gained by the personal investigation of the place in which a SMC is going to do business in or with. While the US-China business conferences we organize each year in the US provide the American companies with the opportunity to conveniently explore the China market right in their "backyard", the scope of these events are limited to the Chinese companies that could obtain US visas to come. So the summer trade mission to China is organized to supplement the events in the US to provide US companies with the opportunity to explore the China market fully based on their own business interests.

Attached, please find the trade mission agenda. You are welcome to visit our web site (www.usachina.org) for information on our previous missions/events and China EZPath Program. Please contact us (e-mail: ucieaa@cs.com) for more detailed info and the matchmaking request form if interested. In order to give the China side adequate time to do the matchmaking, the deadline for the early bird registration is February29, 2008. The deadline for the regular registration is April 25, 2008. We'll provide the match results for the US companies before the trip, and I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

It's your business journey, we simply pave an EZPath for you!

Best regards,

Best regards,

George Wang
