US-China Entrepreneur Summit 2009

US-China Entrepreneur Summit 2009

Chicago / New York / Maryland / Washington D.C.
Nov.30-Dec.5, 2009

Dr. Alan Greenspan, Former Chairman of the Federal Reserve, has been quoted as saying that the current financial crisis is a "once-in-a-century" event. However, experts on US-China trade believe that the crisis is also a once-in-a-century opportunity for Sino-American Cooperation.

For the purpose of enhancing cooperation in trade, technology and capital, the US-China Entrepreneur Summit 2009 will be co-organized in the United States in late November and early December by the US-China Exchange Association, the Global Alliance of SMEs, the US Department of Commerce, the Small Business Administration (SBA), the MeetChinaBiz.org, the Chicago Chamber of Commerce, the City University of New York (CUNY), the University of Maryland and the US Diverse Manufacturing Supply Chain Alliance.

The 2009 Summit consists of four major events which will take place in Chicago, New York, Maryland and Washington D. C., respectively. These are:

  • Matchmaking Conference on US-China M & A and Processing Outsourcing, Chicago
Sponsors will arrange for representatives of American enterprises which are on the verge of bankruptcy but still have potential value, to meet with Chinese purchasers. Some US multinational corporations will also be invited for processing outsourcing.
  • US-China Trade and Economic Forum, New York
This forum will be held in CUNY. Against the backdrop of the financial crisis, the DOC and some renowned financiers from Wall Street, trade experts and American economists will deliver speeches on China-US cooperation, discussing hotspots and disputed issues. The forum will be accompanied by the awarding ceremony of Global SMEs Excellent Entrepreneurs and The Most Valuable Chinese Brands.
  • US-China Hi-tech Matchmaking Conference, Maryland
This conference will take place in the University of Maryland, home of the US-Sino Science and Technology Park, a partnership between the university and China's Ministry of Science & Technology. Sponsors will give Chinese and American enterprises the opportunity to negotiate terms of technology transfer, collaboration and investments in more than ten high-tech projects relating to biology and pharmaceutical, medical equipment and apparatus, environmental cleanup and protection, the chemical industry, new energy and materials, waste disposal, and healthcare products.
