Infrastructure Business Conference was held in Fulin Grand
Hotel, Shenzhen at September 7, 2001.
Dr. George Wang, President of USCEA and Ned Quistoff, Principal Commercial Officer of US Consulate General in Guangzhou delivered speeches at the conference. Dr. Wang pointed out that, as the largest developing country in the world, China is experiencing a high speed development in infrastructure and urbanization nationwide. Infrastructure, as the one of the key industries in both US and China, is an important area for cooperation between the US and Chinese companies.
Mr. Quistoff, in his remark, emphasized the market
opportunities
brought
by the China's entry into WTO for US business communities,
and praised the conference well served for the purpose
of the US Infrastructure Trade Mission: exploring
the huge Chinese market and identifying the potential
projects and business partners. He hoped that more
international exchange activities like this conference
would be organized in the future.
Ranking officials from Guangdong Foreign Trade Commission
and Shenzhen Land Planning & Resources Management
Bureau, as well as about 50 US and Chinese companies
in infrastructure industry attended the conference.
The US Trade Mission took a city tour after the conference,
and was deeply impressed by the achievement and rapid
changes of the city.
